WORK on a major £100,000 project to refurbish the outpatient department at the Alexandra Hospital has begun.
The revamp forms part of a £200,000 scheme to clean up the appearance of the hospital.
And the Government announced on Monday it is to allocate a further £150,000 to the Worcestershire NHS Acute Hospitals Trust, which includes the Alexandra.
Trust chairman Harold Musgrove said: "We welcome the £150,000 we have been allocated as part of the Government's clean-up initiative.
"This money will help us to continue the work already under way, not just to improve the tidiness and cleanliness but also the standard of facilities people are asked to visit for their care."
Work on the hospital's main entrance, corridors and wards has already been completed.
