A FLEET of 16 new refuse vehicles will be ferrying the county's waste to landfill from now on.
The lorries will collect rubbish from household waste sites and deliver it to disposal sites in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
They will carry up to 18 ton of waste on each journey.
Worcestershire County Council, Herefordshire Council and Severn Waste Services said the fleet "cements their partnership".
"Together we have worked hard on finding solutions to our waste problems," said Councillor Colin Beardwood, the portfolio holder for economic development and regeneration at County Hall.
"The strategy is a long-term one and we'll continue working in partnership to ensure it is a success."
Alan Foster, the area director for Severn Waste Services, said the lorries would be the "backbone" of SWS' waste disposal operations.
