PETROL stations around the county said they were not expecting to be affected by today's Dump the Pump campaign.
Many managers and owners of Worcestershire filling stations said they did not think motorists would stop pulling on to forecourts.
The campaign is calling on people to stay away from the pumps in a bid to make the petrol giants drop their prices.
BP and Shell announced that they were reducing the price of unleaded fuel, matching moves by Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.
Joseph Tolley, of Tolley's Garage, Grafton Flyford, said he did not think the campaign would make a difference.
"I'm pretty sure it won't affect us," said Mr Tolley. "The oil companies are making enormous profits but unfortunately we're not.
"For every £1,000 of petrol sold, I make £17.80. It's just not worth my while selling it because we're running at a loss."
Angela Richens, manager of the Jet garage at Lower Wick, said she did not think people would stop filling up.
"I'm pretty sure it will be the same as usual," she said. "If we're quiet we'll just be bust again on Wednesday.
Tim Burns, owner of the Commandery filling station, Bath Road, also expected the campaign to have little impact.
"The tax on petrol is very high, but it's affecting the retailers, not the Government," he said.
