MALVERN Town's pre-season preparations have been going well with up to 40 players attending training sessions at the Langland Stadium.

The vast majority of last season's squad have now re-signed including, despite speculation to the contrary, striker Simon Judge.

Judge, who was Town's leading scorer until breaking an ankle in two places at Little Drayton Rangers last October, is a significant recapture for the Worcester Senior Urn winners and is likely to play a major role in the Cub's quest for honours.

Other signings see the return of Chris Thomas and Phil Slade, who both had short spells with County Sports last season, whilst Adam Higgins has re-joined the club following eight months in the Far Easty.

This experienced quartet are backed up by the singings of promising youngsters Dave Damour, who was a regular in last season's County Sports Reserves Midland Combination Division Three title winning side, ex-Pershore Town utility player Pete Sollis and midfielder Danny White who was a regular in the Pershore Town Midlands Alliance side of two season ago, before suffering a cruciate ligament injury, from which he has now fully recovered.

Town are likely to announce oat least one more major signing before the end of the week.

Town were due to send an eleven to Hellenic League Division One Champions Cheltenham Saracens on Saturday, but the host club have pitch problems and have had to cancel the game.

So Manager, Joey Rawle will be giving a run out to as many players as possible when Banks's League Premier Division Champions Stafford Town visit the Langland Stadium this Sunday (July 23) at midday.

Those supporters worrying about missing Sunday lunch need not fear as after the game the Club will be holding a barbecue for players, officials an supporters alike!
