MALVERN Wanderers Football Club recently held their Annual Award Night at the Chase High School in Malvern.

Chairman Les Jones was able to welcome guests, parents and players with the news that the Club had had yet another successful season. In addition to various Cup wins the Club had produced league champions at Under 11's, Under 13's and Under 14's as well as having a number of boys selected to play/train wit local clubs such as Kidderminster, Coventry and West Bromwich Albion.

A large audience was able to cheer the teams and individual players as they went forward for their award accompanied by suitable rousing music. The award winners this year were:-

Under 8's: Merit Awards - Fraser Pearson & Robert Mackichan. Under 9's: Manager's Merit Award - Alex Wren, Players' Player of the Year - Josh Asquith, Player of the Year - Tom Clack. Under 10's: Managers' Merit Award - Marc Heptinstall, Players' Player of the Year - Luke Butler, Player of the Year - Oliver Mason. Under 11's: Managers' Merit Award - Craig Taylor, Players' Player of the Year - Shaun Carrey, Player of the Year - Bruce Rogers. Under 12's: Managers' Merit Award - Marcus Smith, Players' Player of the Year -Luke Carter, Player of the Year - Scott Butler. Under 13's: Managers' Merit Award - Chris Molyneaux, Players' Player of the Year - Adam Grainger, Player of the Year - Gareth Newton. Under 14's: Managers' Merit Award - Mark Hooper, Players' Player of the Year - Jamie Thomas, Player of the Year - Oliver Munn. Under 15's: Managers' Merit Award - Dale Humphries, Players' Player of the Year - Dave Jones, Player of the Year - Lee Hooper. Under 16's: Managers' Merit Award - David Dodd, Players' Player of the Year - James Abba, Player of the year - David Wardroper.

The Chairman's Award this year went to Committee member Ray Wright who has been associated with the Club for many, many years and is now instrumental in helping with younger players and indeed is a past Chairman.

The Goalkeeping Award for the most successful goalkeeper went to Ashley Bennett and the Golden Boot Award for scorer of the most goals went to Jamie Thomas.
