EAGLE-EYED CCTV operators in Bromsgrove have been praised by police for their vigilance.
Sgt Jerry Reakes-Williams of Bromsgrove police said the first week of this month was "exceptional", with nine arrests attributed to the cameras.
"The observational skills of the control room staff coupled with professional policing make a winning combination," he said.
Operators were praised in particular for noticing two men acting suspiciously in the town's High Street. One was arrested for a drug offence and the other was wanted on warrant.
Other successes included finding a missing person and the seizure of alcohol from young drinkers.
There are 18 cameras in Bromsgrove and three more are to be installed soon, said the council.
