MALVERN singer-songwriter Clive John is back after a successful visit to the US.

And he will be appearing at one of his favourite haunts on Monday (July 24), the bar at the Foley Hotel at 9pm.

During his US visit, Clive played to rapturous responses in the bars of Boston and New York. His St Patrick's Day gig in Queen's College, Flushing, was described by one local as "the best St Paddy's day party we've ever had". He also did an interview and live set on American TV, and gained increasing radio airplay for his CD In A Whisper.

Clive will be recording several of the songs he wrote while in the States, including the reflective folk song These Hills and up-beat crowd-pleasers Fast Food Fiasco and Mr Moneybags.
