AN Evesham care officer had a knockout encounter when he was given an unexpected gift by former boxing world champion Frank Bruno.
Peter Williams, who looks after people with learning difficulties, was given a signed book by the celebrity as he walked through Evesham.
Mr Williams, who works at the town's Lime Street residential home, was with a client when a car pulled up alongside.
"The driver, who I immediately recognised as Frank Bruno, wound the window down and said 'I would just like to say you do a marvellous job looking after these kinds of people'," said Mr Williams.
"He produced the book, signed it and I thanked him. But I would like to say a public thank you to Mr Bruno."
The boxer was in Evesham at the weekend as part of the It's a Knockout team, which includes Keith Chegwin, Lucy Alexander and Nell McAndrew.
