A fine, sunny day dawned for the Annual Summer Fete & Car Boot Sale held by Powick Playing Field Association on its field last Saturday afternoon. There were plenty of activities from bottle tombola and raffle to bargains on the white elephant stall, delicious cakes, cream teas and ices, magic shows ad swing boats, fancy dress and children's sports, an MG vintage car to admire, a silly bike to attempt to ride, bowling, beat the goalie and barbecue, an exhibition of old photos of Powick. The Committee wish to thank everyone who donated items for sale, all who collected goods and made cakes and who worked so hard on the day to set up and serve the public. Last year's total of £1,000 is expected to be exceeded and all profits will be used to maintain the excellent condition of the field and its equipment.
