THE weather was lovely when Andrew and Inis Compton opened their garden at Ambleside, Lawn Road, Corse, to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Fund and since last year a herbaceous border has been added to make the garden even more attractive and colourful.

The splendid sum of just over £404 was raised. Mr and Mrs Compton give special thanks to Victor Smith for cream and milk, Douglas and Diane Barnes of Southfield Nurseries for beautiful pot plants and Colin Broomfield for delicious scones. Also to Angela Craven and her companion who raised £30 with their sponsored ten-mile run.

The ladies were most generous with gifts for the tombola and bring and buy and Janice Pearce friends with the beautifully hand made birthday cards which all helped to make it such a success.

Andrew and Inis sincerely thank everyone and in Andrew's own words "last but by no means least thanks be to God who gave us such a lovely day in what has been a 'dodgy' summer".
