WORCESTER'S Under 16 side helped themselves to seven tries as they ran out 39-6 winners at Cheltenham yesterday, but the game was far closer than the scoreline suggests.

The strong Cheltenham pack made Worcester work hard especially during the early stages and the home side went in front with a penalty after ten minutes.

Peter Knight put Geraint Perkins over for a try which Perkins also converted to give Worcester the lead, only for Cheltenham to close the gap with a second penalty.

A flowing backs move saw full-back Alex Pimlow come into the line to put Frazer Coombes over in the corner for the second try.

Prop Nick Martin was then up in support for the third try after scrum half Jimmy Price had broken from a ruck on halfway.

In the second half, Worcester kept up the pressure and wing Jamie Neville dived over in the corner before a series of drives from the forwards ended in a try for Ben Yates.

Quick ruck ball ended with flanker Edward Manns scoring and number eight Andrew Garton picked up and drove over for the final try which Perkins converted.
