BROMSGROVE Rovers are planning a title assault in the Dr Martens League Western Division next season -- once they have a new board in place.

Chief executive Pat Bannister says the club is poised to recruit several new directors over the coming weeks, having spoken to around 15 potential board members in recent weeks.

He said: "We have vetted most of them but we want to get the season out of the way before sorting everything out.

"Results-wise it has been very disappointing this year, but hopefully next year when the new directors come in, we can put a budget in place where we can challenge for the title.

"It is important to us to get back in the Premier as soon as possible than remain in the Western Division."

Rovers end their season at Cirencester Town tomorrow (3.00), but must do without injured defender Steve Ulfig (knee) and midfielder Graham Brown (thigh).

Bannister's 16-year-old son Patrick has been given permission by his club Derby County to turn out again.

Rovers followed a 4-3 win over champions-elect Stafford with a 5-2 defeat at Weston and Bannister added: "That has more or less told the story of our season. It has been very up and down."
