THE founder of a law firm in Kidderminster is stepping down as senior partner - but it will not be the last his staff and clients will see of him.
Doug Wood, who set up Douglas Wood Thompson 21 years ago, is handing over the reins to partner Gareth Thompson but will carry on working part-time as a commercial property consultant to the firm.
Mr Wood plans to spend his spare time portrait painting, gardening and visiting his Spanish holiday home .
"After 42 years in the legal profession I've decided that semi-retirement would improve my quality of life," said Doug, 60.
"I look forward to still being able to look after my long-standing clients as a consultant - but also having the time to devote to other things I enjoy doing."
Mr Thompson said: "We wish Doug the best but are happy his expertise will stay."
