KEVIN May was the sole representative from Worcester Tri Club to compete in the Trentham Half Ironman in Shropshire.
Competitors had to put themselves through a 1.9km lake swim followed by a three-lap 90km cycle and finally a four-lap 21km run.
The event took place in the Trentham Park complex in good conditions with only a slight wind.
In his first half Ironman race, May recorded an excellent 11th position out of 300 competitors.
He finished in an overall time of four hours 34 minutes 25 seconds.
May's achievement should give him confidence ahead of the full ironman race in a few weeks.
Winner Joel Jameson, of Total Fitness Bash, finished the course in a time of 4-13-17.
