TWO cases of wine are being offered to anyone who can track down a new treasurer for Malvern Citizens Advice Bureau.

The offer is being made by the current treasurer, David Myring, who wants to step down.

"It would be ideal for someone who has a financial background but you don't need to be a qualified accountant," he said.

"We've got a part-time book-keeper who does the day-to-day nitty-gritty. It takes about two days a month.

"It's a serious commitment, but not an onerous one."

The CAB spends about £250,000 a year, donated by local authorities and residents.

Although David is giving up the treasurer's post, he will remain on the board of trustees. CAB manager Anne Limbert said: "It's not just looking after the books; there's scope to be creative."

The CAB is also looking for another trustee. Chairman Laurie Gregory said: "The most likely applicants will be recently retired or semi-retired individuals with the freedom to widen their community involvement.

"But we would also like to bring on board one or two who are younger and working perhaps full-time."

Anyone interested should attend the annual meeting on Tuesday, July 26, at the Lyttelton Rooms, Church Street, at 7pm.

The Citizens Advice Bureau can also be contacted at its Grange Road office on 01684 563611.
