FAMILIES enjoyed making a splash when they tested out hoses during an open day at Worcester fire station.
They took rides on engines, enjoyed face-painting sessions and had fun with brigade bear mascot Blaze during Saturday's event. Tony Emery, one of the county's tallest firefighters at 6ft 4ins, allowed his legs to be waxed as part of the day's fund-raising effort for the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund.
But there was a serious element to the day too - beside the fun, visitors also watched displays on water safety and listened to fire advice.
