A KEEN gardener and propagator from Malvern is delighted at the sell-out success of a plant sale to raise money for St Richard's Hospice.
Peter Lodge, of Stocks Lane, Newland, sold about 350 plants which he propagated from his own garden with some additional stock donated by Bransford Garden Plants raising £575.
He had expected to be selling the plants for another month but was surprised at how quickly his stock was snapped up.
"Everybody has been extremely generous," said Mr Lodge.
"I am very grateful to everyone who bought plants and also to Bransford Garden Plants for donating some stock to sell."
Campaigners are working to raise just under £1m still needed to complete the new £5.25m St Richard's Hospice near County Hall, Worcester, with 15 urgently-needed specialist beds.
Building work is due to start this summer, with the new hospice opening to patients in 2006.
