A CENTURY by Neil Fletcher ensured Cutnall Green got the better of their local rivals and enhanced their title prospects in the Worcester League Division Four on Saturday.

Victory made sure that Cutnall moved to second place to keep the pressure on leaders Old Halesonians, who have a 37-point advantage.

However, defeat seriously dented Himbleton's chances of promotion this summer, as they slipped to fifth place.

Himbleton batted first and Andy Howarth lead the order with 63 runs.

Arief Saleem was the best of Green's bowlers, taking 4-64 as Himbleton recorded a challenging 226.

But Cutnall Green cruised to victory, inspired by Fletcher's 133.

Green face the biggest game of their season on Saturday, when they take on Old Halesonians at home (1.30pm start).

Victory would dramatically enhance Cutnall's chances of winning the title.

Himbleton will be aiming to bounce back on Saturday, when they take on bottom side Tenbury at home (1.30pm start). If the Tons could respond to their derby defeat then they would still have a chance of catching the top two.
