SAM Thomson took the last wicket with two balls left last Saturday to clinch maximum points for Badsey.

Hosts Cleobury Mortimer lost the toss and another good knock by Adam Westmacott (44) helped Badsey reach 87-2 after 19 overs.

A stand of 88 in 16 overs between Dave Powell and Tony Cowley then helped the Ballards Park side post 222 when the final wicket was taken in the penultimate over.

Badsey then made early inroads to reduce the chasers to 24-2 and, when Westmacott took wickets with successive deliveries, the chasers had slumped to 77-6.

An unbeaten knock of 34 from Griffiths gave Cleobury thoughts of reaching 75 per cent of the target to obtain a bonus point but, when Thom-son was brought back into the attack, he did skipper Dave Powell proud to leave Badsey winners by 69 runs.
