I WOULD like to help your readers and residents of Bromsgrove district
with a problem that we all encounter from time to time.
Are you fed up with having to try to walk along narrow footways where vegetation has encroached on to the surfacing? Are you cheesed off with having to duck under overhanging vegetation? And fear having your eyes poked out by projecting hedges?
The answer to these problems lies with the county council which is the Highways Authority. It is responsible for the maintenance of footways and footpaths and it alone has powers to insist that hedges and overhanging trees are cut back from the highway.
If the land owners will not do it,
they can be billed for the work to be done by others.
If the above scenarios are familiar to you then you should contact your newly elected county councillors and complain. They receive £7,500 per annum for representing you and they will be pleased to act on your behalf.
