SUMMER is here and to celebrate a top Bromsgrove arts facility has lined up a host of great blockbuster films for all the family.

The Artrix, off School Drive, has put together a packed programme of films and there really is something for everyone.

In particular, with the school holidays in mind, it has booked a fantastic selection of the best of this year's family films and programmed special matinee screenings at 2pm and there are also some early evening shows at 6pm.

The programme kicks off on Thursday, July 28, with four showings of Millions (12A) which runs until Saturday, July 30.

It tells of the story two brothers who, after moving house after their mother's death, find their lives disrupted once again with the discovery of a duffle bag containing a quarter of a million pounds. They have just two weeks to dispose of their windfall before it comes worthless when the UK switches to the Euro.

This is followed by Kingdom of Heaven (12A) on Thursday, August 4, to Saturday, August 6.

This is an epic adventure, staring Orlando Bloom, with masterful battle scenes, mystery and intrigue.

Robots (PG) is a great family film with the voices of Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry and Robin Williams. It tells the tale of a young idealistic robot who follows his dream to make the world a better place by travelling to the city to meet his idol, a master inventor.

Robots has been hailed as one of the best children's films for years and is screened on Friday, August 5, and Saturday August 6.

Another children's favourite will be Valiant (U) which tells the story of a lonely clumsy misfit wood pigeon who sneaks his way into the Royal Pigeon Service determind to do his duty during the Second World War. This is on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13.

For older viewers films will include the closest ever comic book adaptation Sin City (18) running from Thursday, August 18 to Saturday, August 20 and blockbuster Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith (12A) which is the last of the prequels. It is a breathtaking rollercoaster of space battles, lightsaber duels, explosions and acrobatics.

Star Wars runs from Thursday, August 25 to Saturday, August 27.
