We met on Tuesday evening for our visit to the Tythe Barn at Chaddesley Corbett, where the owners, Judy and Tom Berrow, showed us round their garden .

They had transformed their garden from a virtual ruin into to its present splendour of colour and fruitfulness, all enhanced by the mellow brickwork of their listed home (also once a listed ruin) and, as a backdrop, the ancient church of St Caspian.

Then, a short distance to the Talbot Inn, in the High Street, for an excellent supper, and a relaxed journey home through the dusk of a summer evening.
