A VALUABLE bracelet, worth more than £1,000, has been stolen from an antique dealer's stall in Bromsgrove Market.

A man and woman visited the stall at the antique fair last Wednesday between 1 and 1.20pm.

They chose some items of jewellery, which they asked the stallholder to package up for them, but then left the stall soon afterwards without buying the items.

The stallholder then noticed the bracelet was missing. It is a gent's antique heavy curb link in yellow nine carat gold.

The female offender is of Mediterranean appearance, 5ft 4ins tall, with a slim build and long dark hair worn in a ponytail. She was wearing dark trousers and a light coloured sleeveless top.

The man is also of Mediterranean appearance. He is 5ft 10ins tall, with a larger build and darker skin than the woman. He was wearing a light coloured shirt with the cuffs turned back and a gold bracelet on his right wrist.

The woman spoke better English than the man, but both had a noticeable accent.

PC Mike Morton said: "This couple are believed to have left the market hall though the doors that lead to the main car park behind the hall.

"It may be that someone in the car park noticed them leaving in a hurry and we would appeal to anyone who recalls seeing them or a vehicle leaving at speed to get in touch."

PC Morton also warned other retailers and stallholders to be vigilant and aware of the incident.

Anyone with information should contact Bromsgrove police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
