A DROITWICH lad is devastated after the bike he spent two years building was stolen as he worked at his part-time job.

Seventeen-year-old Ben Dickenson was working at Droitwich Chippy in Mulberry Tree Hill, off Primsland Way, on Monday, July 11.

He left his distinctive 'trails' bike - a pushbike normally used for stunts and tricks - in the delivery yard at the rear of the chip shop between 6 and 10pm.

At some point between those times the bike, which has a white frame and a purple seat, was stolen.

Ben's mum, Lesley said: "It was more than just a mode of transport to Ben. It is his hobby, his sport and what he does to socialise. He is devastated it has been taken."

Now Lesley says she is willing to pay a reward for information leading to the arrest of the thief or thieves in a bid to get the bike back.

"I just think somebody must have seen something. It is the kind of bike you would remember because it is so distinctive."

Ben, who is a student at Worcester Sixth Form College, has spent two years modifying and building the bike.

He travels the country attending meets and shows such as the Red Bull festivals - extreme sports shows - where he can exchange information with other bike fans and watch competitions.

Police officers have been informed about the theft and have issued a crime number.
