Prudden Road Surfacing League

STRATFORD B, having clinched the championship of the previous week, lost their first two competitive games of the season when they only fielded one stand-in pair against Studley.

This gave Studley a 2-0 start and, with the remaining rubbers resulting in 1-1, Studley took the match 3-1.

While Stratford did not directly infringe the rules, it is hoped they field a full side for their final fixture against Claverdon who are in a relegation battle with Henley.

Inkberrow confirmed runners-up spot in the Premier Division after an emphatic 4-0 victory over Chipping Campden.

Littleton and Claverdon and Henley and Stratford C both resulted in 2-2 draws.

Inclement weather disrupted the Division One programme with the top of table clash between FISSC and Bidford poised at one rubber apiece when the heavens opened.

On the same night, Pershore and Stratford D played out a 2-2 draw in thoroughly miserable conditions, while Littleton B eased any lingering relegation fears with a 3-1 win at Tanworth.

All of this allowed Shipston, who completed a 4-0 home victory over FISSC B, to return to the top of the table.

Unbeaten Evesham have already secured the champions spot in Division Two but, at the other end of the table, Ilmington will make an early return to Division Three.

The battle for second place, however, remains tight with four teams still in contention.

Inkberrow and HDA improved their chances with but the former face a tough next match against the top side.

All the Division Three matches produced identical 4-0 scorelines two of which had a major impact on the bottom of the table.

Bidford B overcame Henley B and Shipston B lost to Campden B - results that see Bidford and Shipston swap positions with the former now out of the relegation zone.

The third victory belonged to Moreton who continued their unbeaten run against Littleton C.

Division Four leaders Snit-erfield celebrated an invaluable 4-0 victory over Claverdon C, which means that they only require a draw in their last fixture to be crowned champions.

In the race for the other promotion spot, Whitnash are making a late dash and, following an impressive 4-0 win over Ulle-nhall, move up into second place with one match to play.

Ardencote Manor, meanwhile, have 19 points but have two matches left to complete their schedule.
