VISITORS to a special party in Kidderminster would be forgiven for thinking they were seeing double as sets of twins - and even triplets - enjoyed a fun-packed afternoon.

The Wyre Forest Twins Support Group organised the event at St Cecilia's Church Hall, Kidderminster as part of a nationwide celebration of Twins, Triplets and More Week.

About 14 families joined in with the fun to mark the awareness week promoted by the Twins and Multiple Births Association.

The support group has about 20 members - including three families with triplets - and meets every Monday at the Hoo Road hall from 2pm until 4pm, offering parents advice and support while their children play.

Videos and books are available for parents and mums-to-be and the support group has a stock of premature baby clothes.

Events co-ordinator for the group, Heather Darby, a mother of twins, said they also organised trips and are visited by a health visitor every month to give advice and weigh babies.

"It's hard work having twins," said Mrs Darby, who is struggling to toilet train two-year-olds William and Kaitlin. "Some people say at least you get each stage over in one go but that's no consolation when you're going through it."

She added: "It' s good to be able to talk to other families. Every child is different but you can pick up helpful tips and I have made an awful lot of friends."
