MUSIC ranging from big band sounds to 60s hits will keep visitors to Kidderminster's Brinton Park entertained in a series of summer Sunday concerts.

The Bands in the Park programme, which runs throughout the rest of July and the whole of August, gets under way this weekend.

First up on Sunday are Erica and the Whisky Bandits, who specialise in the sounds of the 60s and chart classics and are making their park debut.

The following weekend, July 31, sees Malvern Brass Band make a return visit, before the Steve King Band, which recreates music from the big band era, on August 7.

For two weeks running after that, on August 14 and 21, wind instruments will, again, be to the fore, with Shirley Brass Band first up, followed by Bell Inn Brass Band.

The season rounds off with Breeze performing 60s music and chart favourites.

Councillor Stephen Clee, leader of Wyre Forest District Council, said: "It's great to have another series of concerts in Brinton Park.

"The performances have become an established part of the events calendar. This year, there's an even wider variety of music on offer and it's free. You can take a chair along and a picnic and enjoy an afternoon in one of our key strategic parks.

"Weather permitting, it promises to be a fantastic event and we look forward to visitors of all ages joining in the fun."
