JUDGING by Coun Geoff William's challenge (Letters, Saturday, July 16) to N Taylor's reply, to Coun Paul Denham on traffic congestion, it appears that Coun Williams sees the voting patterns of planning and other committees through different coloured spectacles than we mere members of the public.
When I attended council meetings it was either a miraculous coincidence or a blatantly obvious political coming-together on many issues.
In fact, apart from the occasional loose cannon, the outcome of voting was totally, politically predictable. Having said this, I would say N Taylor, who on the one hand detests speed cameras, car journeys and park-and-ride, has yet to offer any alternative other than building fewer houses, a solution of course that central government does not support.
