D CURRIE (Letters, July 14) expressed concern about the siting of a "dog poo" bin near to a house in Offmore Road in the Kidderminster ward which, along with Councillors Graham Ballinger and Paul Harrison, I happen to represent.
Wyre Forest District Council does NOT place specific "dog poo" bins in residential areas. These are simply multi-purpose litter bins for every sort of litter which also carry notices about the need to keep dogs under control and to place dog mess in bins and the consequences if you fail to do this.
The bins are emptied at least twice a week and more frequently in heavily used areas.
If anyone has any problem with the bins they should contact their local councillors.
Given the problems with dog fouling in Offmore Road we would like to see more bins and stricter enforcement of penalties against dog fouling.
