ARE you female, over 16, out-going, love dancing and want to cheer on the Worcester Warriors throughout the new rugby season?

If so why not try out to become a member of the new-look npowerettes?

The Warriors have launched a search to find new members of the dance troupe - named after the club's sponsor, npower - for the new Premiership season, which begins in September.

The girls play a crucial role in entertaining the crowd at every home game.

Claire Boulton, the team leader and choreographer, who has been a member of the troupe since it started last summer, said: "What we are saying is just come and try out to see what we are doing.

"We want people who are up for a good time, lively and willing to support us and the Warriors. It's really enjoyable and lots of fun."

Sue Pennington, Worcester Warriors marketing manager, said the new-look npowerettes would be dancers rather than cheerleaders and routines would involve less formation dancing.

"Now the Warriors have come of age in the Premiership, we want to reflect this with a more grown-up and funky feel to the npowerettes.

"Girls needn't have previous dance experience - the requirements are enthusiasm and a fun personality, although a good sense of rhythm would also be a bonus."

Tryouts are being held at the Sixways stadium, off Pershore Lane, on Thursday, August 4, at 7pm.
