THE deadline for residents to object to plans to move a supermarket has been extended because Sainsbury's is revising its initial plans.
The grocery giant wants to pay to build a new Archdales Sports Club on its current store, and put up a bigger 40,000sq-ft supermarket on the dilapidated club site, which is in a better trading position on Blackpole Road.
Worcester City Council's principal planner, Peter Yates, said the objection window had been extended for an unspecified period while Sainsbury's revised plans after the first round of consultation.
Some residents fear they will lose out if Archdales is rebuilt further up Windermere Drive, Warndon, because it will bring unwanted noise and traffic.
The deadline for submitted objections should have passed on Monday.
