INTREPID walkers are hoping to raise as much cash as possible for Cancer Research.

The 15km walk across the peaks of the Malvern Hills from the clock tower to Chase End Hill on Sunday is in memory of relatives of the participants who have died from cancer.

Leon Bevan, of Kempsey, said he was hiking in memory of his brother Nick, who died last September from a rare form of cancer.

The other walkers are doing it in memory of Clifford Phillips and Joe Huxley. Mr Bevan said: "We have received a lot of support for this event so far. People have been very generous with sponsorship, particularly Autosmart of Evesham, Lexus of Worcester, The White Lion and Clive's Hairdressers in Upton-upon-Severn.

"If anyone would like to sponsor us or donate to Cancer Research then you can contact me on 07789 751148 or Sara Hewlett on 07761 126438."
