UNION leaders are to seek urgent talks with a United States company after it bought one of the UK's biggest parcel carriers.

UPS announced it had agreed to acquire Nuneaton-based Lynx Express for £55.5m, saying the deal would strengthen its presence in this country.

The Rail Maritime and Transport union said it was seeking a meeting to ensure the security of its 600 members' jobs, pay and conditions at Lynx.

PIZZA delivery chain Domino's served up record interim results - but warned that its sales were unlikely to grow as quickly over the rest of 2005.

Domino's credited a surge in online orders and the launch of a new cheese steak melt pizza for an 8.4 per cent increase in like-for-like sales during the 26 weeks to Sunday, July 3.

MISLEADING sales practices were hitting a growing number of smaller firms, a new report claimed. Telecoms giant BT said three out of four small or medium sized firms had been on the receiving end of mis-selling of services.
