I EXPECT the politicians will now close ranks to say what a great Conservative leader and statesman the late Ted Heath was.
I say shed no tears over Ted Heath the politician. He was a traitor and a cheat who misled this country into joining what he then called a Common Market, knowing full well (as he later admitted) that he was actually taking us into a future European Union.
It is a great pity that this man who climbed from a humble background to become Prime Minster did not use such a good mind towards the betterment of this country and its people.
I am disappointed that he did not live to see (as it eventually will) the collapse of the European Union. He should, in my opinion, be rated on a par with Tony Blair, to go down in history as one of the two worst Prime Minister's this country has ever had.
