A COUPLE of talented town musicians are using their knowledge of the local music scene to help other young performers on the road to success.

Tom Burbridge and Ben Davidson are offering to help up-and-coming bands and solo artists set up their first gigs.

Tom, 22, said: "We have both been on the local music scene for quite a while now and we know how difficult it can be to get gigs."

Ben, also 22, added: "We are interested in representing all types of music, including rock, metal, funk, grunge and hip-hop."

They hope to create a database of town bands and musicians, that venues like The Coach House and the Golden Cross can use.

Tom is a solo singer/songwriter while Ben is a member of well-established band Animo Torso. They regularly perform at venues across the Midlands.

The former Bridley Moor High School students, who are both studying music, also hope to set up regular live music nights to showcase fresh talent. They are holding a one-off night at The Coach House in Feckenham Road, Astwood Bank, this Saturday when at least six top town acts including Pablo, Animo Torso and Vest will take to the stage.

The music kicks off at 5.30pm and admission is £3.
