Hall hits the high spots

After a close first few ends, Hall, Steve Aldren, Dave Cress-well and Mark Rainbow pulled away after scoring a seven on the eighth end to lead 15-4 and they never looked back.

They will meet Pat White's rink from Bredon in the final next Sunday at Hewell.

Andrew Walters, who had booked a place in three county semi-finals and one final, only managed to win through to the Champion of Champions final after seeing off Steve Poyner (Kays) 21-19.

Walters played superbly well against Grant Burgess in the semi-final of the Four-Wood Singles only to lose 21-20 after leading 17-13 and 20-19.

He also lost out to Richard Moule in the Under-25 final and then to Richard Hall and Rob Dawson from Droitwich Spa in the last four of the Pairs.

Last Saturday Broadway staged the Cotes Triples competition when ten teams competed for a place in the final on Saturday, September 3.

Phil Taylor, with Mick Barnes and Terry Morley, managed to overcome Walters' triple in the quarter-final before beating Ron Ryman's squad in a close semi-final contest.

In the other half of the draw, Aldren, assisted by Maureen Allen and Jeff Dennis, accounted for Dave Dennis in the last eight and then Joan Parfitt's triple to book a final date.
