SPRINTERS from Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletic Club (B&R) excelled in the penultimate Young Athletes League in Cardiff.

Luke Evans produced the best performance of the day in the boys' under-15s 400 metres. Evans broke Ryan Ward's record, set only a few weeks before, in a time of 53.9 seconds.

Sean Duffill was the day's biggest winner in the under-17s age section. Duffill won the 400m (53.1secs), 100m (11.6secs) and 200m (23.1seconds).

Kota Suzuki also made a fine debut for B&R by winning the under-13s' 100m (13.2secs) and 200m (27.4secs).

Jade Peak was also in good form for her club, dominating the under-17s sprint events, winning the 100m in the 13.1secs and 200m in 26 secs.

In the girls' under-13s section Paizlee Herbert came third in the 150m , while Tomasina Ball was second in t he 70m hurdles in 13.1secs and came third in the 800m, setting a new personal best of two minutes and 45 seconds.

Laura Porter won the 800m B event with a personal best of 3.47mins and finished third in the long jump B event.

Rachel Baker was runner-up in the high jump A with a personal best of 1.2m, came second in the long jump (3.75m) and won the 70m hurdles B.

Holly Chapman was third in the 1200m A with a personal best time of 5.50mins, followed in third place by Sally Hogan.

Rosie Walker was third in the 75m B and the shot put B, while Hayley Oliver was third in the 150m B.

Dewi Hammond won the boys' under-13s 100m in 14.7mins. Chris Warren was runner-up in the 800m. Jamie Webster finished fourth in the high jump and third in the 75m hurdles.

Rachel White was second in the under-15 girls' long jump, fourth in the 300m and third in the high jump B.

Megan Hands was second in the discus with a throw of 16.4m and runner-up in the shot put (6.74m).

Kelly Duffill set a new personal best of 2.39mins when finishing third in the 800m and came third in the 75m hurdles.

Kelly Oliver won the 800m B and was third in the high jump, while Amy Irish was third in the 2500m and javelin.

Tuesday Bickley came third in the 100m (13.9secs) and 200m (27.1secs), while Alex Freeman finished third in the 100m B and 200m B races.

Bryan Tyrone came second in the under-15s' 100m A and third in the long jump. Mike Slater won the 800m and Simon Lanckham was victorious in the 3000m and the shot put B.

Adam Morris won the 100m B and finished third in the 80m hurdles. Jon McDonald came second in the 200m B.

Ryan Ward was victorious in the 400m B and long jump B, while Ben Richardson came third in the 800m B and second in the 1500m B.

Esme Ingram won the under-17s triple jump with a leap of 9.98m and was second in the 80m hurdles B.

James Hood won the under-17s 800m and 400m B, while Nial Beaumont came second in the 200m B and third in the 100m B.
