Finstall WI's July meeting was well-attended. President Jill Findon welcomed everyone after Jerusalem was sang. Our secretary Ann Parr was unable to attend, so Janet Sable read the minutes of the last meeting.
Catherine Davidson, of Stoke Prior WI, had sent a copy of the report she had written covering every aspect of the AGM in London.
The birthday outing to the Teme Valley was a success starting with coffee at Bramley Tea Rooms, Holt Fleet, and on to The Tavern at Newnham Bridge where a good lunch was enjoyed and then to a craft centre for afternoon tea.
Jill introduced Barbara Maskell our speaker. Barbara's daughter married in Japan and her talk was of her experience in Japan and of all the unusual items that she has collected over the last few years and photographs of her extended Japanese family. The competition was for a wedding photograph - Mary Limmen won with her lovely Edwardian wedding photos.
