EVESHAM members have completed a busy period with mixed results in six Inter-Club matches.

The annual Invitation Day saw home players competing with numerous invited guests from around the Midlands.

Brian Chapman paired up with K Williams (Broad-way) to win the John Dale Invitation Trophy, with a magnificent net 64, in the fourball betterball format.

Runners-up were Gerry Ricketts and Broadway captain C Wright just a shot behind.

Two pairs tied for third spot, with Eric Pike and R Jakeman (The Worc's) winning on the back nine from Derek Lambert and J Lacey (Lilley Brook) after carding when identical 66s.

Evesham visited Burton-on-Trent to take part in the Annual Centenary Chall-enge alongside teams from Stratford and Ingestre (Staffordshire).

It was the host club who ran out easy winners, leaving holders Evesham in second place.

Roger Bagley recorded the best Evesham score on the day with 35 points.

Evesham surprisingly lost two of their three home fixtures, after 4-3 defeats to Kidderminster and Worc-ester Golf and Country Club. However, they infli-cted a first ever whitewash on their visitors from Tew-kesbury Park.

Slightly better results were achieved on their travels with a 4-3 win at Redditch and an even better 5-1 win at Ombers-ley.

Their good away form deserted them at Wharton Park, where Evesham lost 5 - 1.
