DROITWICH Spa want players from the past to attend a celebration of its 20th anniversary on Saturday, August 13.

The Castle pub, in Worcester Road, is set to have live entertainment and a pig roast to celebrate the completion of Spa's second decade.

The event is also to raise money for the club.

New manager Thomas Goss has had to contend with the loss of three first team players over the summer.

Damon Harris and Darren Charlesworth have both been ruled out of playing on Saturday's, while Adam Holland has moved on.

This means that Goss will have a paper-thin squad for the Midland Combination Division Two's opener against Mile Oak Rovers on August 20.

Ian Cottrill is set to miss the game because he is on holiday, while Matt Morton is suspended.

Despite the set back Goss is confident his side can make a good start to the season.

He said: "It's been exciting so far. Training has been really good and I've seen some excellent stuff from the boys.

"The attendance for training had been healthy and I'm looking forward to the start of the season."

Spa's preparations for the season get into full swing when they hold an inter-club friendly on Saturday, August 6.

The first team then play Bromyard away on August 14 and Malvern Town on the 16th at home (6.30pm kick off).
