ALCESTER Town Council is to object to proposals to build more than 50 homes on a former factory site in Bleachfield Street.
The planning application, by Laing Homes, provoked complaints from resident before it was submitted to Stratford District Council.
They were concerned about the loss of parking spaces and the archaeological impact of the development.
Councillors' main concern is that the area will be over-developed.
Alcester mayor Jim Kenyon said: "The site is 0.88 of a hectare and according to planning guidance there should be 30 to 50 houses per hectare so this is far too many."
Residents put their views to a planning meeting of the town council, attended by a representative from Laing, on Monday night and the application will be considered by district councillors this autumn.
