A nine-year-old girl who complained about the state of a parish play area will see her dreams come true when she opens the revamped site, three years later.
Sian Maguire was only six years old when she decided to take action and highlight the poor facilities at the play centre in St Peter's, Worcester.
Sian, of nearby Bittern Road, will be the guest of honour at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, August 5.
Her parents Moira and Roland said they were thrilled with what had been achieved.
Mrs Maguire said: "Sian is looking forward to seeing the final result.
"She hopes the children who play there will enjoy, but also respect the play area and is certainly looking forward to being able to play there with her friends and little brother."
The centre has been completely refurbished by Worcester City Council and St Peter's Parish Council.
The Mayor of Worcester, Aubrey Tarbuck has also been invited to the event at 4.30pm.
