A FASCINATING tour of Welford-on-Avon was the itinerary for this year's evening visit.
Ray Castle, secretary of Welford and Weston Local History Society, hosted the enjoyable event for the 70-strong audience.
With the aid of an information pack created for the occasion, members toured the landmarks of the beautiful village. Then at the Parish Church of St Peter a history of the building was wittily presented by Peter Deakin.
On returning to the starting point at the Memorial Hall, members were greeted with delightful refreshments prepared by the ladies of Welford and Weston Local History Society.
Graham Sutherland will present the next talk, entitled The Golden Age of Coaching on Wednesday, August 10 at 8pm at the Greig Centre, Alcester. The town crier of Warwick will explain how the heyday of stagecoaches had an impact on places like Alcester. Members and visitors welcome.
