A PRIME commercial building in the centre of Kidderminster has been sold at auction for a massive £800,000, which was £80,000 more than its price guide.
Strong competition from four bidders pushed up the price paid for the impressive Haven discount store building on the corner of Market Street.
Allsop & Co auctioneer, Duncan Moir, said: "The building stimulated a lot of interest. It looks good, with a large display window and investors, along with tenants, like corner buildings because they think they have more for their money.
"People like the town and the building is in a good position."
It was sold to a property company based in the south of England as part of the biggest ever auction of UK property, generating £161 million of capital from the sale of 262 lots.
