YOUNG footballers were put in their place after their elders stormed to victory at a football match in aid of Operation Covert.
The present team from the Station Inn, Kidderminster lost 4-2 to a former line-up that had represented the pub at Wolverley High School on Saturday. The match raised £218 for our appeal.
Chairman, Phil Brooks, said: "The old players more than matched the present team, going in at half-time 2-1 up. The score never looked in doubt as the past team made it a 4-2 win."
The winning team were in their 30s and 40s while the present squad were in their early 20s, he said.
Mr Brooks added: "It was nice to see some of the old players wearing a club kit again and to see so many people involved. It was an enjoyable day for everyone involved and a pleasure to raise money for a local cause."
