A DRAMATIC turnaround in fortunes is being celebrated by Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership Trust after it was awarded a maximum three stars in the Health Commission ratings - instead of zero the previous year.
The ratings did not spell out good news for all the county's health groups, however, with Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Service slipping from three to two stars and Wyre Forest Primary Care Trust slumping from three to one.
The ambulance service's rating deteriorated despite hitting all of its key targets and being praised for "excellent work" in safeguarding children and risk management.
Chief executive, Russell Hamilton, said: "We are very proud of our work in all areas, in particular, reaching the key targets, our work in thrombolysis and the very positive response to the NHS staff survey.
"I don't believe these have been sufficiently recognised."
Chairman of the mental health partnership, John Calvert, thanked staff and said simply: "You can't do better than the best".
