STAFF and pupils at Broadway and Tower-view playgroup enjoyed a day in the sun as they visited the maize maze at Hidcote.
The children had been studying shapes and spirals in class and had made a maze of their own, using sheets and poles. But after that they wanted to step up a notch and experience the real thing.
They set off for the maze with plenty of sunscreen, snacks and bottled water. When they arrived the maze, owner John Righton met them and told them what to expect. Then the children set off into the maze in groups of 4 to 6 and two adults to search for hidden flags.
Playgroup manager Jude Simms said: "The children really enjoyed taking it in turns to lead their teams around the maze and using thinking skills to work out the best routes.
"From the bridges inside the maze they could see the whole layout and from there they could shout to other teams to help them find the flags."
