POLICE have renewed an appeal for witnesses or information after a man with life-threatening head injuries was found lying in the middle of the A44 near Cotheridge, between Broa-dwas and Knightwick, early on Sunday.

The man is today said to be "stable, but critical" in the neurology department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

Det Sgt Andy Price, of South Worcestershire CID, who is heading the investigation, said: "The help of the public in identifying how the victim came by his head injuries is extremely important to this investigation. We continue to keep an open mind as to how he sustained those injuries." Police have urged anyone who drove along the A44 in that area between 3am and 5am on July 24 to come forward, no matter how unimportant they may feel their information is.
