IT'S a public notice with a twist the public can't actually read it unless they happen to be carrying a ladder. A temporary traffic restriction notice has been cheekily placed around 14ft up a pole, near the Elgar Statue in High Street, Worcester. Tom Comerford, the city council's senior engineer for transportation and traffic management, believes pranksters may have been responsible. Mr Comerford said: We put public notices up at eye level. We haven't had this happen before." He added that the notice is due to be brought down to a readable level in the next few days. Fifty-four-year-old Laurence Peterson, above, of Langdale Drive, Warndon, who first spotted it, said: "It's certain no one can read it, unless you're from the land of the giants.
