PEOPLE who enjoy Celtic, Balkan, Gypsy, Spanish, or Cornish music will be able to hear these influences in the sounds of 3 Daft Monkeys.

The Cornish band, who write their own songs, have varied musical backgrounds which range from dance, ska, and reggae to traditional folk and other world sounds.

Their music is described as quirky, groovy and fun, and they dare their audiences not to dance.

3 Daft Monkeys have had great success at venues and festivals all over England and Europe; They were invited by show of hands to play the main stage at the Eden Project and by The Levellers to play at their Beautiful Days festival.

The band is Tim Ashton on vocals, 12-string guitar, penny whistle and bass drum, Athene Roberts on violin, vocals, recorder, percussion, and Jamie Waters on bass guitar.

They were recently featured on Late Junction, Radio 3, and have appeared twice on BBC Television South-West as well as on German, French, and Spanish television.

The band has also played live sessions on Radio Cornwall, Radio Devon, Radio Gallego and Radio 3, Spain.

Catch them live at Worcester's Marr's Bar, Pierpoint Street on Sunday, May 16.
